Reform Lip Plate   Also sometimes called a ‘Winged’ Lip Plate.  This is a style of embouchure on a head joint where the lip plate is formed with a raised ‘ridge’ on either side of the embouchure hole, approximately where the lower lip of the player would rest.  There are many variations but the apparent advantage seems to be a general improving of ‘ease of blowing’.  As with all designs, however, this may mean a reduction in another facet of the response of the head joint.
